Tree Pose - Vrksasana

  1. Stand with your feet together, ankles and knees touching. Feel a straight line of energy from the inner arches up through the crown of the head. Bring the hands together at the centre of the chest. Exhale, ground your feet, steady and firm in Mountain Pose.

  2. Shift your weight onto your right foot. Lift your left foot and place it on the inner right leg (calf or thigh).

  3. Lengthen your tailbone toward the floor, stand tall and bring your gaze on a stable point in front of you.

  4. Press your left foot against your inner right leg to maintain your midline.

  5. Square both hips, keep your left knee moving out to the left

  6. Tighten your tummy in and your lower ribs together.Open the chest and bring the shoulder blades down.

  7. Take 5–10 deep breaths.

  8. Exhale and release the left leg back to Mountain pose.

  9. Repeat on the other side.
